Korea Town, Shin-Okubo, Tokyo, Japan
Do you know that Japan has two Koreatowns? One is in Tokyo, and the other is in Osaka.
We went to Tokyo-Koreatown, which is located in Shin-Okubo. If you take good care of your skin, don't skip Koreatown.
As soon as you exit Shin-Okubo station, you will notice numerous shops selling Korean cosmetics and Korean barbeque restaurants along Okubo Street. There were too many shops selling face masks, skincare products, and glittering eyeshadows, all at affordable prices, especially compared to Germany. That's obvious, Korea is next to Japan.Â
Feeling a bit overwhelmed by the choices, I turned to a friendly lady near the station for guidance. Her recommendation led us to Ikemen Street, a haven of reasonable Korean cosmetics and authentic Korean restaurants.
We had a delicious meal at Souke where we enjoyed Gamja-tang, a meat broth hot pot with potatoes.
We also enjoyed a satisfying shopping spree for Korean cosmetics, including tons of face masks, cushion foundations, and other products.
