20 min by Keio-Line from Shibuya, Shimokitazawa is often called Shimokita and is well known for vintage clothing.
The station was utterly white. Everything was shiny and new. When I got off the train, I felt like I had come here for the first time, even though I used to live in Shimokitazawa.
The sky was covered with thick black clouds, and it looked like it was about to rain at any moment. But the town was crowded with vintage clothing lovers, as it was at that time.
There were also a lot of cafes and restaurants. The town was lively and had a cozy atmosphere.
Exploring Shimokitazawa is like embarking on a treasure hunt. Shops are not just on every corner but also hidden away on the 1st floor of buildings and even in the first basement, waiting to be discovered.
In Japan, vintage clothing is usually in excellent condition. Plus, the Japanese yen has been steadily falling. If you like vintage clothing, you will definitely enjoy exploring the Charm of A Vintage Clothing town, Shimokitazawa
Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures but, my favorite shop was SMITH&YOU.
